Experience:
Associate's degree in Fire Science/Technology and three to five years of progressive firefighting experience including at least two years of supervisory/training experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must possess certification as a South Carolina Fire Instructor and Fire Instructor Specialist. Prefer a current South Carolina Paramedic certification.
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate an automobile, firefighting tools, fire apparatus, video equipment, and a variety of automated office machines, which includes a computer, slide projector, overhead projector, copier, etc. Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to twenty-five pounds of force frequently, and/or up to ten pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Medium work must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to two hundred pounds.
