|
• College graduate from a accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree in fire science, public administration or Emergency Medical Services, plus ten (10) years of experience in a Fire Service based EMS organization; or
• Any combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work;
• 4 years of related experience at a Company Officer level or higher;
• Strong working knowledge of best practice and performance measures;
• Completion of Meridian Fire Department Leadership Academy (within 12 months from date of hire);
• ICS 400 certification preferred;
• Fire Officer 1 certification (within 12 months from hire date if not currently certified);
• Fire Instructor I (NFPA or IFSAC or State of Idaho); Fire Instructor II preferred;
• Type 3 IMT Section Chief (within 24 months from hire date; position to be identified post-hire)
Licensing and Certificates:
• Possess a valid Idaho Class D driver’s license;
• Valid EMT license (or higher);
• NFPA or IFSAC or State of Idaho Fire Instructor I; must obtain Fire Instructor II within 12 months of hiring.
